My favorite people in all the world growing up were James Herriot, Mahatma Ghandhi, and Abraham Lincoln. Why? Because they had a love and compassion for animals – all animals. Somehow or someway, I have always been involved in animal rescue or volunteered at animal shelters; for the past thirteen years I have been a volunteer at the Adams County Humane Society in Friendship, Wisconsin after moving here in December of 2004. For three years I have been a contracted writer for our local newspaper writing “happy ending” stories about the shelter animals adopted, as well as, stories about the shelter animals up for adoption – hoping to find them their forever homes. This site is my heart because it is about the shelter animals and I hope you share this passion and share your own pets’ “happy ending” stories!

I would love hearing about any happy ending story that you may have. Any story about an animal who has made a difference in your life, as well as, you making a difference in theirs. After all, isn’t that what life is about? Making the world a better place for all of its creatures – including us.

What People Say

The question is not, ‘Can they reason?’ nor ‘Can they talk?’ but ‘Can they suffer?’

Jeremy Bentham

An animal’s eyes have the power to speak a great language.”

Martin Buber

“I am in favor of animal rights as well as human rights. That is the way of a whole human being.”

Abraham Lincoln

Let’s build something together.
